Reproduction of a large statuette of a Roman gladiator "secutor" type, in solid bronze, silver plated, recognizable by its equipment. It presents a crested helmet that has the distinction of having a removable face, which we wanted to keep for these reproductions. The right arm is equipped with a manica and the hand of a glove and a small gladius. In the left hand he holds on the ground a large decorated shield of the type of the Roman legionary scutum. He also wears a sublica held by a belt.
The original piece was discovered during works, in the early nineteenth century, on the Place de la Major, to the east and near the amphitheater of Arles.
It is now preserved in the Departmental Museum of Ancient Arles.
