LUXURY ROMAN LEGIONARY CINGULUM

Roman legionary military belt (cingulum) in leather. It is richly adorned with tin plates. They represent a stamped decoration figuring three Eros with wings in a military picture : in the centre, an general Eros in breastplate, with a shield at his feet ; on both sides, two trophy of weapons where are standing two Eros, one is thinking on the left, the other has his hands attached on the back. The original parts are in the Berlin museum and on the Vindonissa site.
